Sizing + Fit
Fabric + Care
I love the fabric and color of this dress, it’s flowy and hangs beautifully. I feel it runs a bit small as I got my usual size (6) and the waist is tight. It’s not unbearable but there isn’t much give to it. I also purchased the culottes and absolutely love attaching the top to make the jumpsuit, it’s so comfortable!
I love this dress!!! I waited too long to buy it last year and had been patiently waiting for it to come back in stock. I lived in the Button Up Midi all summer so I knew I’d love this dress too, but this gold is definitely more fall/winter appropriate. The fabric has a nice weight to it, the fitted waist makes it a bit more dressy, and being able to convert the dress to a skirt is obviously a cool feature. One thing to note is that the waist is form-fitting so be sure to check the sizing chart carefully because it is not forgiving in the waist.
I’m 5’1 and ~118 lbs. Usually an XS/S. Purchased the 0 originally, but it was a bit tight, so I sized up to a 2. I think a 4 would’ve been better, but it was out of stock at the time. The length of the 2 hits just at my ankles so it’s more of a maxi dress than a midi dress if you’re short. It fits pretty well overall, just the waist of the top is a little tight.
This is probably the most versatile Vetta piece that I own. They don’t advertise the top as a standalone piece, but the black buttons don’t really look out of place. If you get the dress in black it won’t even be noticeable. The skirt works great on its own and I’ve found that even the belt has multiple uses. It can be worn as a belt, a neck scarf/tie, a headband, or if you’re a little more daring (and wear pasties) it can even work as a bandeau!
I got this dress in Emerald when the capsule first released. I loved it so much that when they restocked a year later, I got the Gold version. Unfortunately the gold version is baggier up top even though they are the same size. I still like it, I just have to wear a different bra than usual to make it work. The dress is very versatile and can be dressed up or down and I own the culottes in gold and emerald and love buttoning them on the top of the dress to make a jumpsuit! I've attached pictures of me in the emerald dress and the gold version with the gold culottes attached to the top of the dress to make the jumpsuit. I loved that so much that I wore it for our Fall family photos this year!
I cannot say enough good things about this dress- it's my new closet favorite! I have already worn it multiple times in different ways and it looks new every time. I love how the dress can be worn backwards for a classic 1950's look, or forwards for some statement buttons. I took the top off of it and wore the skirt + a blouse for some holiday photos and had a whole new look. The Emerald color of the dress gets so many compliments when I wear it. It's well worth the investment for the gorgeous sustainable quality and how many ways it can be worn!
