We started VETTA because we cared about the people - the garment workers who are so often mistreated in the fashion industry. We are committed to working with responsible factories who pay workers fairly, protect workers rights, have safe working environments, and prohibit child labor, forced labor, and discrimination. We visit our factories personally, and work closely with them to manufacture our collections. We've chosen the factories below based on their expertise and their social responsibility.

WOVEN FACTORIES

New York, New York, USA

Our New York factory is a family-run business, and many of the seamstresses and managers have been there for over 30 years. They specialize in woven and tailored garments, and they are incredibly skilled, producing mostly high-end garments for luxury department stores. Every day from 1-2pm, no matter how busy it is, everything stops for lunch. People share food and stories, and we always feel like family when we visit.

Los Angeles, California, USA

Our woven factory in L.A. focuses on sustainable manufacturing. The factory has even developed its own proprietary yarn made from recycled water bottles and recycled cotton. The factory is audited on a regular basis by a third party to ensure that it meets strict social compliance standards.

SWEATER FACTORY

Los Angeles, California, USA

Our sweater factory is located in L.A., and is one of the few domestic manufacturers left that can create high quality fully-fashioned sweaters. The factory is very clean and well-maintained, and is audited annually for social and environmental compliance. It also is focused on sustainability, and gets 70% of its energy from solar power!

Los Angeles, California, USA

Our t-shirt factory in L.A. has made t-shirts for the biggest ethical brands and high-end tshirt brands in the U.S. They run a very efficient and orderly factory, and they are audited by a third party to ensure that they meet strict social compliance standards.

DENIM FACTORY

Los Angeles, California, USA

Over the years they grew to become one of the biggest factories in Los Angeles, producing for some of the best American denim brands. The factory is audited regularly for social compliance.

INTERNATIONAL FACTORIES

Mumbai, India

Our partner factory in India is a Fair Trade Certified non-profit organization whose mission is to empower women. It's a co-operative that trains and provides employment to women in the slums of Mumbai. It also provides hundreds of educational sponsorships to children of workers, provides health insurance, and does trainings like savings and finances. We've visited in person and were so inspired by the impact this organization is having. We only produce a small amount of items at this factory, but we hope to work with them more in the future!

Arequipa, Peru

Our partner factory in Peru is a Fair Trade Certified factory that specializes in the creation of high quality, sustainable knitwear products. The factory has also created a non-profit foundation that focuses on implementing programs and activities that support the development of children and artisan women. The foundation provides technical training programs and stable employment opportunities to artisan women, as well as child care, medical care, and educational programs for children in remote communities. We started working with this factory in 2021, and hope to work more with it in the future!
